Background
The Business for Peace Foundation was initiated by Per L. Saxegaard in 2007.
Mr. Saxegaard is the founding partner of the Norden Realkapital group and Norden Investment Banking. Mr. Saxegaard has for more than twenty years been engaged in financial and strategic advisory work, and M&A transactions with business entrepreneurs in Scandinavia.
Through his work with business entrepreneurs, he learned to understand the value of business relationships and the importance of ethical practice in business in order to create sustainable growth. When Norden Capital Partners, the private equity arm of the group, secured the license for developing a World Trade Center in Oslo, he was inspired by the non-political, global association’s vision of “Peace and Stability through Trade”.
Becoming increasingly conscious of the self-reinforcing interdependence between business and peace and the importance ethical business practice constitutes in this logic, he founded the Business for Peace Foundation. The aim of the Foundation is to increase the awareness of the business person as an individual to the strength of the ethical business case, and thus inspire business people as individuals to foster peace and stability.
